LEAP English Pathways is a boutique English education and coaching organization based in Australia. We support learners navigating academic, professional, and cross-cultural transitions through high-touch, carefully designed English programs.

We specialize in small-group programs and premium one-on-one coaching for learners preparing for IELTS, academic English and professional communication. Our focus is on building long-term communicative competence, confident real-world language use rather than just short-term test strategies. We are currently building our first cohorts with a strong emphasis on quality and learner experience.

Role Description

We are launching IELTS-focused cohorts and are seeking experienced IELTS Instructors (Casual) to join our founding teaching team.

This role is fully remote initially, with a preference for instructors based in Melbourne, Australia. In-person delivery may be introduced later as programs expand.

You may be involved in one or both of the following offerings:

• IELTS 7.0 Pathway Coaching: Cohort-based small-group programs designed for candidates aiming to reach or consolidate Band 7.0. Instruction emphasizes structured weekly progression, peer interaction, and consistent instructor feedback, while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, coherence, and exam readiness.
• IELTS 7.5+ Performance Coaching: Premium, individualized one-on-one coaching for advanced learners targeting Band 7.5 and above. Sessions are highly tailored and diagnostic, focusing on band-specific weaknesses, supported by detailed, rubric-driven feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver IELTS small-group classes and/or one-on-one sessions with clear weekly structure
• Provide high-quality, rubric-aligned feedback on IELTS Speaking and Writing
• Apply test strategy without compromising long-term language development
• Track learner progress and flag issues early
• Collaborate with LEAP on lesson flow, materials, and teaching standards

What We’re Looking For

• Demonstrated experience teaching IELTS, with clear familiarity delivering instruction at Band 7.0 and/or 7.5+ levels
• Minimum 3 years of IELTS teaching experience is required
• Strong familiarity and command of IELTS Writing and Speaking band descriptors
• Clear classroom management and pacing skills, especially in small-group settings
• Professional, reliable, and responsive communication
• Relevant academic background in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field
• IELTS examiner experience is a bonus but not required
• Australian work authorization is required for this role

Compensation

• Teaching rate: AUD 70–90 per hour, depending on experience and role scope.
• Non-teaching rate (e.g. marking, meetings, administrative tasks) is paid at a lower hourly rate.
