About the Role

The ELICOS teacher is responsible for preparing lessons, teaching and assessing students as well as day-to-day administrative and reporting tasks.

In this newly created position, you will be reporting to the Academic Manager- ELICOS & will have a teaching load of 20 hours per week (hours may vary based on operational needs). This is a permanent part time position.

Success in this role will be measured by positive student outcomes and the effective delivery of a student-centred learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach face-to-face classes
  • Plan, design and deliver high quality lessons and provide students with regular formative and summative feedback on their progress
  • Identify and review teaching and assessment materials
  • Provide regular formative and summative feedback to students on their progress and performance
  • Consult with and provide appropriate guidance and support to students
  • Regularly review learning and teaching outcomes, ensuring student progression and an excellent student experience
  • Maintain records of student attendance and progression
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures and processes to maximise operational efficiency and student outcomes
  • Participate in teacher meetings and professional development sessions
  • Work collaboratively with the Academic Manager to ensure ELICOS programs meet EDU’s institutional and governance standards
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including: ESOS Act, National Code 2018, ELICOS Standards 2018

Education, experience & skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (any field) & Certificate IV in TESOL
  • Excellent understanding of TESOL methodology, classroom management, lesson planning, and assessment
  • Excellent people management and soft skills
  • Proactive problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong MS Office and student management systems skills
