ELICOS and Young Learner Camp Teacher – Casual or Seasonal Opportunities (Brisbane)
Are you passionate about teaching and working with international students in a dynamic, culturally diverse environment?
Shafston College is now seeking motivated and enthusiastic teachers to join our team for Study Tours and English Camps in Brisbane Campus.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Follow the Teaching Plan: Deliver lessons according to the set teaching plan and meet program academic goals.
- Engaging and Age-Appropriate Teaching: Use interactive and varied activities to enhance student learning.
- Supervise Student Behaviour: Ensure a safe and respectful learning environment in class and during break times.
- Lunch Supervision (Camp teachers only): Supervise students during lunch breaks as needed.
- Take Daily Attendance: Accurately record student attendance at the start of each class.
- Daily Class Reporting: Submit a daily report to the Teacher Coordinator (TC), noting attendance and relevant updates.
- Support Activity Sessions: Collaborate with activity staff and assist in activities aligned with learning objectives.
- Promote a Positive Classroom Environment: Encourage participation and foster a supportive atmosphere.
- Student Welfare Awareness: Stay alert to student wellbeing and report concerns to the TC or welfare staff.
- Team Communication: Maintain open and professional communication with colleagues and the TC.
- Classroom Readiness: Arrive promptly to set up materials and prepare the classroom.
- Encourage English Use: Motivate students to speak English both in and outside class.
- Support Cultural Exchange: Introduce aspects of Australian culture and encourage cultural awareness.

Teachers will support a range of activities including:
English Testing
- Study Tour Level Testing
- Camp Speaking Test & Writing Marking
On-Campus English-Related Activities (content provided)

🔹 What We’re Looking For
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience teaching English to diverse student groups
- Ability to manage student behaviour and engage young learners
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- Bachelor’s degree + Certificate IV in TESOL
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Passion for teaching and cultural exchange
