$60 per hour
The role is offered on a casual contract basis, requiring a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.
4.1 Deliver, as per the timetable, face to face classes, small group support and guidance
sessions that aim to assist learners with language and academic study skills.
4.2 Support (instruct, materials development, student management) the delivery of the
following courses: Pre-intermediate Australian English Language Course,
Intermediate Australian English Language Course; Advanced Australian English
Language Course; Special Language Bridging Course – Flying Instructors’ Course;
Defence Scholarship Familiarisation Course; and ADC Preparation Course.
4.3 Apply a variety of tools such as Zoom, Moodle, H5P and Articulate360.
4.4 Work together with learners, other teachers and co-ordinators actively promoting a
collegial and professional environment, and one that is in sync with the ethos of the
international engagement mission of DITC.
4.5 Assess students formatively and summatively using both in-house materials, external
products and the ADFELPS system.
4.6 Provide timely, constructive and appropriate feedback to students using the provided

for their learning.
4.8 Support, as per the timetable, any social or non-classroom based learning activities
such as field trips or BBQs.
4.9 Be available for and contribute to Language Training section meetings held by either
the Course Co-ordinator or the Head of Language Training Section, as notified.
4.10 As per the timetable, meet with the learners to deliver holistic assessment feedback at
the culmination of the course and provide to the Head of Language Training Section a
written version of the feedback for inclusion as part of the learners’ final record of
4.11 Provide professional and constructive feedback on the course and the teaching and
learning at an end of course evaluation wash-up meeting, or at any point of the course
as is deemed appropriate and necessary.
4.12 Be available for any PD sessions, as timetabled.
4.13 If required, support and contribute to lesson or session materials redevelopment.
Minimum requirements for teachers are:
a. Certificate IV in TESOL (minimum)
b. Adult/Tertiary Teaching Experience
c. (Encouraged but not required) Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
d. Eligibility to work in Australia
e. Requested to obtain a Police Check upon successful application.
