The Higher Institute of English in Nouakchott, Mauritania is looking for able and enthusiastic teachers for our degree in International Communication Studies and for our In-Service Courses

Our degree programme is a 3-year full-time undergraduate course, 60% EFL-based, and 40% covering business and employability skills. Candidates able to offer one or more of the following subjects would be considered favourably: Public Administration, Public Relations, International Relations, Project Management, Human Resources, Marketing, Economics, Banking & Finance, Travel & Tourism, Supply Chain Management and TEFL.

Our in-service courses include: General English, Military English, Business/Financial English and Aviation English and English for the Energy Industries. We also provide teacher training support within the Mauritanian state education system.

The Higher Institute is in its sixth year and has excellent, modern teaching facilities. Our growing academic staff currently includes 12 experienced expat teachers from the UK and elsewhere as well as 13 locally-hired teachers.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in any subject. Master’s degree preferred.
A TESOL Certificate
At least 6 years teaching experience.

Salary and Benefits

30,000 GBP per annum, paid in Sterling (after local income tax has been deducted)
Bonus and increment for re-signing.
9 weeks paid holiday per year plus public holidays.
2 return flights per annum to London or equivalent
