Job Description
As an ELICOS Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a program of study that provides students with an enjoyable, communicative, and engaging experience. You will be expected to use all available resources to create engaging, multimedia lessons that stimulate an appropriate range of language learning and engage students with a variety of appropriate content.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver effective English language lessons in accordance with the company’s syllabus/curriculum, timetable, and policies.
• Develop weekly lesson plans that incorporate a variety of resources, including text, multimedia, and supplementary materials that support the four macro-skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
• Administer exams and assessment tasks in a fair and consistent manner, and provide timely feedback on student performance to help them improve their language proficiency.
• Monitor student progress, behaviour, and welfare, and promptly report any concerns to the Academic Manager/Management, including attendance issues, academic struggles, or personal issues.
• Attend all team meetings, teaching workshops and professional development sessions conducted on campus, as well as actively seek out external professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent relevant experience within NEAS requirements
- Certificate IV in TESOL
- Valid Working With Children Check
- 3 or more years of broad teaching experience for students at varying levels
- Knowledge of English language examinations including IELTS and AEAS
- Proven track record of keeping up to date with ELICOS standards
Preferred Requirements
- Experience of teaching English for High School and/or Primary School preparation in Australia
- Experience teaching EAL/D in secondary or primary school setting in Australia or abroad
