ESL Job in Portugal
Small language school with a friendly, professional environment. We seek a full-time teacher to teach 24 hours per week from 1st March to 30th June 2023. Located in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Evora in southern Portugal, we offer communicative language training and Cambridge exam preparation for small groups of local learners: children/youths from age 7 and some young adults. Teaching schedule 5 days a week afternoons/early evenings plus Saturday mornings.
Applications invited from native-speaker-level, graduate, TESOL qualified: EU citizens or non-EU with right of residence in Portugal (or other non-EU, who can stay 90 days in the Schengen Area as a tourist and work as a teacher for 3 months – we will consider this). Knowledge of Portuguese (or other Latin languages) an advantage. We seek someone who is professional in their approach, adaptable, organised, creative and passionate about TESOL.
Friendly students, good learners, levels: R2 – including Starters preparation (2h/wk) 5 students 10/11 yrs; Y1 – incl. Movers prep. (2h/wk) 5 stud. 11/13 yrs; Y2 – incl. A2 Key prep. (4h/wk – 2 groups) 13 stud. 12/14 yrs; Z2 – incl. A2 Key prep. (3h/wk) adolescents & young adults, 6 stud.; Z5 – B2 First prep. (7h/wk – 2 groups) adolescents plus 2 adults, 7 stud.; Z6 – post-B2 (3h/wk) 3 older adolescents; Z7 – C1 Advanced prep. (3h/wk) 3 older adolescents.
Freelance position with GUARANTEED REMUNERATION of 1,560 euros gross per month for 23 teaching hours plus per week 1 hour’s meetings. 10 days’ Easter holiday. Accident insurance included. Pleasant spacious classroom, whiteboard, interactive projector, Windows 11 laptops.
Furnished accommodation available: spacious single/double room with ensuite bathroom and study room. In shared house (including another ESE ENGLISH teacher). Cost 450 euros per month plus bills including wifi c. 30 euros/month. Located in pleasant surroundings in Rua Dinastia de Aviz.
