ESL Job in Guatemala
ORGANIZATION
Maximo Nivel is offers the leading ESL program in Latin America with institutes in Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Peru. We are looking for great ESL teachers to join our teaching team in Antigua, Guatemala. Maximo Nivel is well known for our “Native English Program,” our professionalism, and our dedication to excellent teaching and great client service. We have been in Latin America for more than 20 years and we offer stable, safe employment. We also provide full curriculum, textbooks, quizzes, exams, and all teaching materials.
POSITION
ESL teachers teach 30 contact hours per week, Monday – Friday. Class size is limited to 12 learners. Most teachers teach a range of levels from Basic to Advanced. The majority of our learners are young adults, 18-30 years old, and some teens.
We pride ourselves on our teachers, and it is important that you take pride in your teaching. We specifically look for professionals with a passion for teaching. We stress three things in our classrooms:
1. Professionalism
2. Chemistry with our learners
3. STT – Student Talk Time
QUALIFICATIONS
− Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
− International TESOL Certificate
− Native English speaker
− Excellent interpersonal skills and a love for teaching; strong team skills
− Strong computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Google Suite, etc.
SALARY
The Institute pays teachers a fixed base salary approximately 10% above the average teacher’s salary in-country. This salary is not adjusted down unless teachers request fewer classes, so monthly budgeting is easy. Base salary can be increased by adding classes, extra hours, substituting for other teachers, and earning ‘Rock Star status’. Finishing bonuses are also paid after a minimum 6-month commitment.
We offer Spanish classes to our teaching staff at discounted prices. And we also provide free internet, coffee/tea, and other amenities for our staff and students.
