Job Title: ELICOS Teacher (Evening classes)
*Qualification for an ELICOS Teacher: *
A degree
Certificate IV in TESOL
*Skills and abilities: *
• Previous experience in teaching or designing ELICOS or similar ESL courses.
• Strong grasp of interactive teaching methodologies that promote active speaking and listening skills.
• Ability to create engaging content that is varied and suited for intermediate learners.
• Cultural sensitivity: Understanding and respect for different cultures and backgrounds, and the ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Patience and empathy: The ability to be patient with students who are struggling, and to understand and respond to their individual needs and challenges.
• Creativity: The ability to develop and implement engaging and effective lessons that keep students motivated and interested.
• Strong subject knowledge: A deep understanding of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, as well as the ability to teach these concepts effectively.
• Classroom management: The ability to help teachers maintain a positive and productive learning environment, and to manage classroom behaviour and discipline issues.
• Adaptability: The ability to assist teachers to adjust teaching styles and methods to meet the needs of different students and to respond to changing circumstances.
• Assessment and evaluation: The ability to assess student progress and performance based on CEFR scale, and to provide meaningful feedback that helps students grow and improve.
• Continuous learning and development: A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to stay current with new teaching methods and best practices.

• To equip students with the necessary listening and speaking competencies required for day-to-day communication.
• To build on existing knowledge while introducing more complex structures and vocabularies.
