ESL Teacher:
Gem Institute Language Centre has openings for assistant professors in EFL/ESL, starting in 2024. The Institute is interested in professional EFL/ESL faculty, including those early in their careers.
Responsibilities: Teach 15 – 30 hours per week spread across 5 days. Assignments will follow a standardized curriculum and course syllabi with required textbooks / materials. Instructors are also expected to hold at least three hours of office hours per week, attend meetings, participate in screening interviews, hold demonstration classes, and other duties as assigned. Successful candidates should expect to arrive in Timor Leste in early 2024.
Education Required: International TESOL Certificate
Experience Required: Preferred but not essential minimum of 1 years working in a foreign country and/or teaching English online experience. We will also consider applicants who have completed their Certificate of TESOL with minimum exposure as training can also be provided. Confidence in teaching is a requirement.
Language Requirement: High level of English proficiency speakers preferred. Nonnative speakers of English may be considered depending on their level of experience and education.
