TESOL Language Instructor Roles

Fortis Consulting is part of a panel that manages and delivers various language courses for the Department of Defence. Courses can range in length from short term to yearlong delivery, material development, and assessment marking.

We have a pool of language instructors and developers that we contact for suitable roles and currently are looking for 2x TESOL INSTRUCTORS.

We are looking for two experienced instructors for the Department of Defence at the Defence International Training Centre (DITC), for the period from July 1st, 2024* to June 30th, 2025. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are in need of two qualified and experienced TESOL teachers. There is a possibility for the contract to be extended, depending on DITC requirements.

*Please note that the start date is flexible, and we can accommodate any prior commitments.

Role Responsibilities

• Deliver face to face classes, small group support and guidance sessions.
• Support the delivery of the courses  (instruct, materials development, student management).
• Apply a variety of tools such as Zoom, Moodle, H5P and Articulate360.

The position is located in Laverton, Victoria, and the weekly hours will not exceed 37.5. The approved rate for this role is $60 per hour, exclusive of superannuation, and it will be held on a casual contract basis.

The following criteria are highly regarded by DITC when considering instructors:

• International TESOL Certificate / Certificate IV in TESOL / International TESOL Diploma
• Australian Citizen
• Experience in developing materials
• Recent experience working with adults
