Fortis Consulting, a subsidiary of Community Vision, is part of a panel responsible for managing and delivering a variety of language courses for the Department of Defence. These courses vary in duration, ranging from short-term programs to yearlong engagements, encompassing material development and assessment marking.
To support our ongoing commitments, we maintain a pool of language instructors and curriculum developers. We are currently seeking an experienced TESOL Materials Developer to join our team as a replacement for an existing position.
About the Role
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are in need of a qualified and experienced TESOL Materials Developer to work with the Department of Defence at the Defence International Training Centre (DITC) in Laverton, Victoria. This contract is set to run until June 30, 2025, with the potential for extension based on DITC’s requirements. We can accommodate any prior commitments before confirming a start date for the role.
This role presents a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a specialised sector of the TESOL industry, developing expertise in military-focused language training.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver face-to-face classes, small group support, and guidance sessions.
- Develop high-quality learning materials for instructional use.
- Support course delivery, including instruction, materials development, and student management.
- Utilise a range of educational tools, including Zoom, Moodle, H5P, and Articulate 360.
Position Details
- Location: Defence International Training Centre (DITC), Laverton, Victoria.
- Employment Type: Casual contract.
- Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week.
- Remuneration: $60 per hour (exclusive of superannuation). This figure may be negotiated depending on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.

- Australian citizenship (required for security clearance purposes).
- TESOL Qualified
