Job Description
- Sessional, Full Time
In this role, you will deliver engaging and effective English language lessons to international students, supporting their learning journey and ensuring a positive classroom experience. You’ll contribute to curriculum development, monitor student progress, and play an active role in maintaining a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality English language teaching in line with curriculum requirements.
- Prepare lesson plans, materials, and assessments to support effective learning outcomes.
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide constructive feedback.
- Address student enquiries and issues, offering support and guidance as needed.
- Contribute to syllabus development and participate in staff meetings and training.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, including OH&S and the Code of Conduct.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and performance reviews.
- Perform administrative and other duties as directed.
Qualifications
- A recognised Bachelor’s degree (any field).
- A Certificate IV in TESOL.
- Demonstrated experience teaching:
- High School and Primary School Preparation programs
- EAP (English for Academic Purposes) and/or General English
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in ELICOS programs, utilising a variety of methodologies, resources, and technologies.
- Demonstrated high-level communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team of teachers, academic leaders, and other staff.
- Experience working with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness.
- Experience using online learning platforms and strong digital literacy skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and other relevant applications.
