About the Role
A fixed-term position is available within VU English (VUE), Victoria University’s English language centre. VUE delivers a range of English Language Programs (EAP, General English, Study Tours) to international students that are designed to help improve their language and academic skills so they can transition into a VU University course. This role reports to the Manager, VU English.
As an ELICOS Teacher within VUE for General English and English for Academic Purposes, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality education to students from a range of linguistic backgrounds
- Delivering onsite with the possibility of remote delivery if the centre requires it
- Contribute to the development of learning and assessment resources
- Monitor, evaluate and assess student English language progression and successful course completion
Salary and Conditions of Employment
This is a full time, fixed-term role until 22 July 2026 at 1.0 FTE, 38-hour work week. The salary ranges from $89,911 to $114,008 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications, plus 17% superannuation.

The successful candidate will need to
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree (any field)
- Certificate IV in TESOL
- Hold a current Employee Working with Children Check or VIT or willingness to obtain one
- A flexible approach to teaching that utilises effective teaching methodologies
- Experience working with an international student cohort is preferred
- CERT IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to obtain one
