The RMIT UP Foundation Studies Program consists of courses comparable in standard to an Australian Year 12 curriculum. It develops a mix of discipline knowledge, academic English and study skills in a supportive, flexible and learner-centred environment. About the role
In this position, you will be responsible for the teaching delivery of one or more English related units (Exploring Narratives, Comparative Texts, Creative Narratives).
Duties include assessment, monitoring academic progress of students, contributing to the development of the Foundation Studies curriculum and providing an outstanding student experience.

About You
To be successful in this position you will have:
Essential
- The minimum requirements for teachers primarily responsible for academic English language subject areas are:
- A recognised degree AND
- Certificate IV in TESOL AND
- 2 years ESL/EFL teaching experience
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in delivering and assessing both in face-to-face and online classes (using a Learning Management System such as Canvas and Microsoft Teams).
- Substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position.
- Capacity to identify learning problems in students, propose and implement effective strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies
- VIT registration or Current Working with Children Clearance.
Desirable
- Experience teaching other tertiary or secondary school subjects.
- Experience teaching international students in a tertiary or secondary school setting
- TESOL (English Language Teaching Qualification) for teacher responsible for non-English subject areas.
- Proven collegiality and the ability to share ideas
- Knowledge of current pedagogical practices
